The start-up that hunts for talent locally

David Boixader and Jaume Alemany met while studying for a master's degree in business management and administration. As a final project, they created “the first online personnel recruitment company in Spain” on paper, explains Alemany. Once the training was finished, they decided to make the project a reality. That is how, in 2013, they founded Etalentum, a personnel selection company based in Vic.

If when the company was born its strong point was digitization, now it is the use of its own technology capable of managing, storing, interpreting and responding to a large amount of information thanks to the use of technologies such as artificial intelligence or big data. The development of this technology, which they have named Robinson, has involved an investment of 500,000 euros. They point out that Robinson avoids unwanted discarding of candidates, as happens with other recruitment systems.

Once the first screening has been carried out, the extensive network of Etalentum offices comes into action. "We have 29 offices and more than 70 employees in Spain, which allow us to find the best candidate qualitatively and locally," says the co-founder. They claim to be the first personnel selection company in number of offices in the country and plan to open even more. "Nothing to do with the beginning, when it was just the two of us," recalls the entrepreneur.

According to the company's expansion plan, by the end of the year there will be between four and five more offices and an additional ten people will be hired. The objective for 2023 is to have between 80 and 90 offices, to cover the entire national territory, as well as to make the international leap, with Italy as the first destination.

Etalentum's clients are small and medium-sized companies, although more and more multinationals are contacting them. The founders expect to end the year with a turnover of 44 million euros.
