The spring pink of the quince tree

* The author is part of the community of readers of La Vanguardia

Among the soft pink flowers of spring is the quince tree, which I have portrayed in detail and in all its splendor for the Readers' Photos of La Vanguardia, in Alcorisa (Teruel).

The quince tree can also have white flowers, but in this case we look at how the soft pink flowers of spring look. In autumn, this shrub or small tree will display its golden fruits.

The quince tree adapts very well to its environment (it withstands winter colds of up to -25º) and shows abundant green foliage that accompanies its pink flowers, generating an attractive chromatic contrast.

The flowers, which in this snapshot we see in detail when closed, are between 5 and 7 centimeters in diameter. They are one of the largest in the Rosaceae family and are also very perfumed.

Its nectar is a delicacy for bees and butterflies, so the quince tree also contributes to the vital process of pollination.
