The spring flour of Vallter

From Besalú I have captured this photograph for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia in which we can see the floured area in the Vallter area. The trace of the last spring snowfall can still be seen.

Vallter 2000, located in the heart of the Eastern Pyrenees, is known as the Catalan Switzerland, at an altitude of 2,500 meters, a level that allows this white hat to still be kept on the mountains at the beginning of May and despite the fact that it has been a rather warm winter and spring.

The view is from Besalú, a municipality in the Garrotxa region. This town of medieval origin stands out for its Romanesque bridge over the river Fluvià.

Its architectural and urban structure today is still quite consistent with its medieval past, which gives this town a special attraction.

In 1966 it was declared a Historic-Artistic Site for its great architectural value. It is an ideal town to visit with the family.
