The spectacular recovery of Jeremy Renner: returns to the red carpet after the accident with the snowplow

Jeremy Renner has attended his first red carpet since his horrific accident with a snowplow. Four months after breaking more than 30 bones, the actor attended the Los Angeles premiere of Disney's Rennervations wearing a navy blue suit with a matching tie and white collared shirt. But his most notable accessory was his cane, which he also used a motorized chair to get around the facility and talk to reporters.

Despite that "tonne of pain" he's still in, Renner, 52, appeared very much recovered and was all smiles posing for photographers. It was New Year's Day when the actor was airlifted to a hospital after being struck by a 12,000-pound PistenBully near his home in Reno, Nevada.

Renner continues to recover from his injuries after leaving the hospital a few weeks ago and, as he himself published on his social networks, he is working hard on rehabilitation exercises that will return his 30 broken bones to the state they were in. After the accident, the interpreter had to be hospitalized urgently in the intensive care unit, and although his condition was always stable, the injuries he suffered have turned out to be more serious than estimated.

Although it is a hard process mentally and physically, the actor is positive and focused on his recovery and he shares it on his social networks. ''These more than 30 broken bones will mend, grow stronger, as love and bond with family and friends deepen. Love and blessings to all,'' the artist wrote in a post on Instagram.

In an exclusive interview with ABC News journalist Diane Sawyer, Renner previously explained how the accident came about. As he revealed, he was driving the snowplow after having used it to dig one of his family's trucks out of the snow. As the truck began to skid on the ice, Renner worried for the safety of his nephew, who had just disconnected the chains between the truck and the snowplow.

The renowned actor took a foot out of the vehicle to see how his nephew was, but did not apply the handbrake. As a result, he fell from the cab of the snowplow to the ground while the machine continued to skid. "You shouldn't be out of the vehicle when you're driving it, you know what I mean? It's like driving a car with one foot out," Renner said while sitting in a wheelchair during the interview. Yet he did: "But it is what it was. And it's my mistake, and I've paid for it."
