Seville closed the April 2023 Fair this Saturday with an initial balance that speaks of record figures in terms of public influx, consumption in the Real, public transport, carriages and hotel occupancy, with which the Cecop plans to also exceed the initial estimates on the total economic impact, going from 930 million euros.

The mayor of Seville, Antonio Muñoz, has conveyed his gratitude to all the public services of the City Council, the Junta de Andalucía and the Government of Spain coordinated by the Cecop for their work during the Fair, which has allowed it to be settled without incidents noteworthy and a large influx of public.

Among the indicators that measure the influx, as detailed by the Consistory in a statement, the demand for Tussam lines that provide their service to Real has been 1,173,571 passengers, with growth of 14% compared to the 2022 Fair .

In this sense, the lines with the greatest demand have been the Prado de San Sebastián-Feria Shuttle, with 198,424 passengers and an increase of 20.4%, Circular C1, with 173,361 passengers (13.7%), and Circular C2 , with 167,102 travelers (15.8%). For its part, the Shuttle from the public car park at P13 (Charco de la Pava) transported 192,200 passengers during this period.

The still provisional data from the Seville Metro speaks of the fact that it also exceeded the barrier of one million users since Lighting Saturday, around 12% more than the 2022 edition. With regard to carriages, between Sunday and yesterday the figure was rose to 4,663, 6% higher than in 2022 and the maximum since 2017.

In the public car parks set up for the Fair, 71,411 vehicles were registered during the week as a whole, the number being similar to that of last year. Lastly, the Local Police's video analytics system has recorded on the Front Page -therefore, other accesses to the fairgrounds are not included- a cumulative 2.1 million movements of people.

Meanwhile, the managers of the Confederation of Businessmen of Seville who participate in the special Cecop of the April Fair, and who in turn represent the main distribution companies, have transferred this Sunday that in this edition there has been a record of consumption in the Real, with an increase, pending the closure of the data, which would be close to 40% compared to last year. On the other hand, hotel occupancy has been around 85-88% on average for the week, and over 92% on weekends.

As for the health device, coordinated from the Municipal Health Area and executed by the Red Cross, 1,982 assistances have been made until this Saturday --this device continues throughout Sunday--, a level similar to that of 2022, with injuries, syncopes, respiratory pathologies and allergic reactions as the most common attentions.

In the different daily meetings of the Cecop, both 061 and the Red Cross --the winner of the municipal health service for the Spring Festival-- and 112 have highlighted the existing coordination between the entire health device with the Local Police, National Police and Civil Protection, which has allowed a quick response from foot teams and also from ambulances despite the large number of people.

Thus, among the most serious cares, eight people with stroke and another six with heart attacks were registered, and all of them are evolving favorably.

For its part, the Local Police Control Center has managed 2,518 events during the week of the April Fair. The agents have carried out 1,317 breathalyzer tests of which only twenty were positive throughout this week, while they have inspected 423 establishments and only nine have been sealed.

In this sense, the City Council highlights the majority compliance with the regulations, and especially those approved to stop the bottle in Los Remedios and Tablada, a control to which the aerial group of drones attached to the Department of the Interior has joined, which at its time has also intervened in the control of the illegal sale of alcohol in Calle del Infierno, nearby and nearby parking lots.

On behalf of the Fire Service, the inspection of the entire booth was completed midweek to determine compliance with fire regulations.

From Emergencies 112, 1,047 incidents were managed during the week. In the joint control of perishables deployed by the Local Police, Seprona and the Municipal Consumer Area, 2,185 vehicles inspected for consumption were inspected, with 43 intervention reports. Meanwhile, Emasesa arranged four water supply points in the Real in the middle of the week in order to cope with the high temperatures, while a second trough was installed for the whole week by Major Festivals.

Although the April 2023 Fair ended on Saturday night with the fireworks show, during this Sunday and Monday the 'gadgets' of Calle del Infierno will continue to operate, while a sanitary device checkpoint is maintained to attend Incidents regarding the disassembly work by the cassette players.

As for the Lipasam waste collection and recycling service, its still provisional balance - this morning has yet to be accounted for - points to 1,658,190 kilos, 2.1% less than in 2022, from waste collection and cleaning of the Fairgrounds and its area of influence (including selective collection). The drop is due, in part, to non-alcoholic beverages in returnable containers, which have gained ground among booths this year compared to single-use containers.

In this edition, and for the second consecutive year, selective collection of light packaging has been carried out throughout the fairgrounds: 105,330 kilos, 65.4% more than last year's accumulated figure. In addition, Lipasam has carried out the selective collection of glass containers in the booths and establishments of the fairgrounds. In total, 534,540 kilos, with a 7.2% increase. The collected glass containers have been transported to an authorized manager to start their recovery and recycling process.

Likewise, cardboard was collected selectively: 45,910 kilos between paper and cardboard, which represents a 7.4% increase. This waste has been transferred to the Recycling Plant. On the other hand, and in collaboration with an authorized manager, 39,745 kilos have been collected during this Fair, 4.8% more than in 2022.
