In just a couple of days, the Argentine Jorge Sampaoli managed to restore vital signs to a Sevilla in depression with Julen Lopetegui on the bench. He was not enough, however, to achieve victory in his debut against Athletic, one of the most fit teams in the championship, but he recovered his tension, passion, dedication and returned to compete for the greater enjoyment of Sánchez Pizjuán.
With a very solid proposal, Sevilla surprised Ernesto Valverde's men from the start, located in Champions positions, with an early goal from Oliver Torres. The medium took advantage of a combination between Montiel and Papu Gómez in which the Danish Kasper Dolberg collaborated.
