The sadness of Cap de Mort

Will it finally rain this May long weekend in Catalonia?... The land needs it, as demonstrated in The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia with these images of Cap del Mort, the Riera de les Gorgues and the Riera and Salt de les Paganes without water or with just a small stream that only the herds use.

The salt d'en Nara is located in the Riera de les Paganes, a short distance from its junction with the waters of the Gorgues. It is a small waterfall that leads to a pool, surrounded by forest, but these days it is dry, as we see in the images.

A few meters below, at the mouth of the stream, is the Salt Gran de las Paganes, affected by the persistent drought in Catalonia and waiting for rain.

El Cap de Mort or Ninot de les Gorgues is one of the references of the beginnings of climbing in Osona, in the decades of the sixties and seventies of the last century.

It is a rocky structure, with a very characteristic shape located to the east of the meander of Les Gorgues, on the banks of the river, next to its junction with Les Paganes.
