The PSOE calls on Díaz and Feijóo not to make the “fled Puigdemont” mayor of Barcelona

The leadership of the PSOE demands both Yolanda Díaz and Ada Colau as well as Alberto Ñúñez Feijóo that this Saturday they avoid the investiture in Barcelona of "an independentist mayor from the Puigdemont party", in reference to Xavier Trias, and opt for a "constitutionalist" mayor , in reference to the socialist Jaume Collboni.

The municipal political secretary of the PSOE, Alfonso Rodríguez Gómez de Celis, has appeared this Friday from Ferraz to launch an express appeal, first of all, to Yolanda Díaz and Ada Colau, “so that they choose between an independent mayor, who wins Puigdemont, or a socialist and constitutionalist mayor like Jaume Collboni”. The same demand has transferred to the leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. "Is it going to make it possible for there to be a pro-independence mayor in Barcelona, a mayor of Puigdemont, or does the PP prefer there to be a constitutionalist like Collboni?" He reiterated. "Both, Yolanda Díaz and Feijóo, have to clearly state what their position will be in this regard," he urged. A pro-independence mayor or a constitutionalist mayor, is the dilemma that has called them to decide.

"Would you prefer the mayor of Barcelona to be Puigdemont or Collboni?", he insisted on demanding from the Sumar and PP candidates. "Puigdemont or Collboni, that's the challenge, because it depends on both", reiterated Gómez de Celis. "For the advancement of Barcelona in terms of social and territorial peace, it is important that the mayor is Jaume Collboni", he warned. "Therefore, the question for both is if they prefer Puigdemont, the fugitive Puigdemont, as mayor in Barcelona, or if they prefer Jaume Collboni", he said.

Gómez de Celis has assured that tomorrow will be "a black Saturday for Spanish democracy", since in 187 cities they will remain in the hands of the governments of the Popular Party, "the most ultra-conservative party in Europe", together with the extreme right of Vox. In 52 of these municipalities, in addition, the PSOE won the municipal elections on May 28, he highlighted, to neutralize Feijóo's proposal that the lists with the most votes always govern.

The socialist leader has also tried to put out the fire that the government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, caused the day before, when he defended that EH Bildu has done more for Spain than "the jingoists with their wristbands", in reference to the right. “The PSOE has no agreement with Bildu, it is false. Whoever says that the PSOE has a pact with Bildu is lying”, highlighted Gómez de Celis. And he has warned that the Socialists have managed to approve more than 200 laws in Parliament in this legislature, "with all the political groups, also with the PP, except with Vox."

Among them, he has listed, the increase in pensions or the labor reform. In this last case, however, he has stressed that both Bildu and ERC as well as the PP voted against. "There are measures that only the PSOE and the PP have carried out, and I can assure you that we do not have any pact with the PP," he concluded.

The Minister of the Presidency, the socialist Félix Bolaños, has also harshly charged against the agreement signed in the Valencian Community between the PP of Feijóo and "the party of the abuser", alluding to the Vox electoral candidate in this territory, Carlos Flores , convicted of sexist violence. "The agreement reached by Feijóo's party and the abuser's party suppresses policies in favor of equality between men and women, suppresses policies against gender violence and goes against women's rights," he denounced. "The party of the abuser of women", he has assured, will now be precisely the one that will manage in the Valencian Community the ministries that "should promote policies in favor of equality between men and women and against gender violence". "It is a very dangerous pact, which represents an obvious setback in the great constitutional consensus of our democracy," Bolaños warned.
