The pro-Palestinian camp in Valencia entered the Faculty of Philosophy last night

The university camp in solidarity with Palestine that began this Monday outside the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Valencia (UV) decided to take over the interior of the building last night due to the Rectorate's failure to listen to their demands, as reported in a statement. Later, at dawn, they left the building but kept camping on the Blasco Ibáñez campus in front of this faculty.

In this text they point out that "given the lack of response from the Rectorate of the UV", they have decided to "take action and take a step forward", since after the insistence of the organizations during the last months and camping during the In recent days, the institutions have not listened to them.

For this reason, they have decided to take the interior of the Faculty of Philosophy, "despite the refusal and the attempt to call the police forces by the dean", they have highlighted. With this decision, they want to imply that they will not take “any step back” in their demands and will move forward with all their actions until all their demands are met.

The camp, which is part of the BDS País Valencià social movement, demands the “end of the genocide in Gaza”, but also the cessation of agreements between universities and institutions with any company or organization in Israel that finances this “apartheid”.

Likewise, the initiative demands from universities a statement that goes beyond equidistance, calling what happened “not as a conflict or war but as a genocide.”
