Dawn rises by land, sea and air from the Pont del Petroli beach in Badalona, as shown in this series of three photographs in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

The Pont del Petroli is a Badalona pontoon built for the unloading of petroleum products from tankers and since 2009 it has been remodeled as a space for citizen and scientific use. It is located on the Pont del Petroli beach, in front of the promenade of the Progres neighborhood, going into the sea about 250 meters with a height of 14.5 meters.

The Pont del Petroli is a concrete structure that consists of a 235-meter access bridge finished with a 100-square-meter unloading platform supported by metal pylons.

The bridge is made up of two T-shaped concrete beams joined together. In addition, it is supported by 16 groups of pylons separated every 15 centimeters, three of the groups of pylons are located in the sand of the beach and the rest of the water nailed 6 meters into the seabed.

The first Pont del Petroli in Badalona was built in 1879 by the Suari i Canals company, with the aim of unloading oil from ships.

The next one was built by the CAMPSA company and was used as a discharge dock in 1965 and was used until 1990.

In 2003 it became property of the Badalona City Council and after different stages of restoration, it was opened to the public on June 13, 2009, enabled as a promenade that leads out to sea as an unprecedented viewpoint of the city.

Three years later it was integrated with the rest of the seafront. At the entrance platform of the bridge, very close to the Anís del Mono factory, a sculpture by Susana Ruiz dedicated to the history of the factory was inaugurated.

In its recent history, the Pont del Petroli has suffered damage from storms, which forced rehabilitation works to be carried out on this iconic infrastructure.
