The Mossos d'Esquadra have located 1,820 marijuana plants in 14 greenhouses in Almatret (Segrià). This is the first facility of these characteristics to be dismantled in the province of Lleida, since until now, illegal marijuana crops had been located in warehouses or outdoor spaces.
The plantation is about 10 kilometers from the town, in an area of difficult access in some old tree nurseries where there was a water connection to the Segrià Sud irrigation system.
The Mossos located and arrested one of those responsible for the crop on Wednesday, while three others involved managed to flee. This Thursday, the police have once again moved to the place to continue with the dismantling.
