The Platino celebrate ten years bringing together the Ibero-American audiovisual industry

The Platino Awards are already prepared for the celebration of its tenth edition with the great Ibero-American audiovisual festival, which can be seen on screens throughout Ibero-America. The awards, which are held this Saturday, April 22 at the IFEMA Madrid Municipal Palace, will celebrate the great event together with the most notorious and outstanding talent from their regions.

Thus, they have joined the previously announced celebrities nominees such as Ricardo Darín, candidate for the best male performance for his leading role in Argentina, 1985; Luis Tosar, Darín's fellow nominee for his role in On the Margins, and Laia Costa, finalist in the category for Best Female Performance for her role in Cinco lobitos. The red carpet for the awards also adds additions such as Bárbara Paz, Clara Lago, Ernesto Alterio, Fernando Tejero, Georgina Amorós, Juana Acosta, Martha Higareda, Martina Gusmán, Óscar Jaenada, Sebastián Yatra and Vanesa Martín, who will be some of those responsible for delivering the prizes to the winners of the night.

Some of the great talents of Ibero-American culture will also parade on the carpet, such as Agustina Palma, Alfonso Bassave, Álvaro Cervantes, Ana Fernández, Andrea Duro, Andrés Suárez, Arcelia Ramírez, Berta Castañé, Clara Alonso, Cristina Castaño, Daniela Santiago, Danna García, Darko Peric, Edgar Vittorino, Eduardo Noriega, Eduardo Rosa, Eva Ugarte, Geraldine Bazan, Grecia Castta, Jorge Blanco, Jose Pastor, Laura Laprida, Lucas Vidal, Macarena Gómez, Mar Saura, María de Nati, Marilu Marini, Miguel Ángel Muñoz, Nicolás Francella, Pablo de la Chica, Paulina Goto, Rubén Ochandiano, Ruggero, Tommy Aguilera or Vanesa Romero.

Big names in the sport will be added to all of them, such as David Villa, Fernando Morientes, Fernando Sanz, Juan Pablo Sorín or Miguel Ángel Moyá. Nor will there be a lack of personalities from the field of politics such as Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid, or José Luis Martínez Almeida, mayor of the city of Madrid.

The guests who will fill the red carpet with glamor will attend the event in Volvo cars, the official vehicle of the Platino Awards in the editions held in Madrid. This year, in addition, these cars will be hybrid to significantly reduce CO2 emissions, in one of the organization's commitments to ensure that the event is sustainable. In line with EGEDA's commitment to the environment, other measures will be applied such as the elimination of plastic water bottles, instead promoting the use of reusable water sources to minimize waste generation. The carbon footprint of the event and all its associated aspects will also be measured to determine its environmental impact and to be able to offset the emissions generated by planting trees.

The Platinums have always celebrated the heterogeneity of the cultures of every corner of Latin America, as well as the diversity of the audiovisual works that the creators and talents of each Spanish and Portuguese-speaking region, by format, genre, narrative or theme. Inclusion is part of the spirit of the awards, which, in its tenth edition, have collaborated with the Prodis Foundation, a non-profit organization that works for the social and labor inclusion of people with disabilities, accompanying them and training them in all aspects of their life and generating opportunities with the aim of becoming active and full members of society.

The event, which in all its editions has been a safe space for its attendees, has implemented an action protocol for the prevention and detention of any type of aggression and/or sexual and/or gender harassment. This protocol will be activated if any situation is detected in which the personal freedom of any of the attendees is compromised or attacked, to protect potential victims, prioritizing attention to them, respecting their decisions at all times and informing them of the rights they they assist you.

Sebastián Yatra, the great musical protagonist of the night, and Blanca Paloma, the Spanish candidate for Eurovision who will perform her song EAEA with which she attends the European Song Festival, will take to the stage. The awards will have the invaluable collaboration of Carolina Gaitán, one of the presenters of the gala, Adrián Lastra, Alejandro Claveaux, Alicia Bánquez, Clara Alvarado, Laila Garin, Lucrecia, Mane de la Parra, Michel Brown or Reynaldo Pacheco, a group of Ibero-American actors and actresses developed not only in movies and series but also in music that will represent a musical tour through some of the most popular styles of the Ibero-American regions: samba, vallenato, merengue, ranchera, salsa, Andean music or rumba.

The gala, presented by Carolina Gaitán, Omar Chaparro and Paz Vega, will have one of the most exciting moments of the evening in the delivery of the Honor Award to Benicio del Toro. The Puerto Rican actor and producer, one of the great Hispanic talents in Hollywood and an ambassador for the Ibero-American regions, is one of the most outstanding Spanish and Portuguese-speaking cinematographers in relevant international productions, and for his figure he will receive the honorary recognition of the Platinum on its tenth anniversary.

The gala will take place on April 22 at the IFEMA Madrid Municipal Palace and will be broadcast by television stations throughout Latin America, with most of the 21 channels broadcasting live. The awards gala can be seen on América TV (Argentina), ATB (Bolivia), Canal Brasil (Brazil), Chile (TVN), Caracol TV (Colombia), Canal 4 (Costa Rica), RTS (Ecuador), RTVE ( Spain), Somos TV (United States, Puerto Rico), Channel 3 (Guatemala), Channel 13 (Honduras), Channel 22 (Mexico), Channel 2 (Nicaragua), Medcom (Panama), Channel 13 (Paraguay), ATV Channel 9 (Peru), Telesistemas (Dominican Republic), TV Ciudad (Uruguay), Venevisión (Venezuela) and TNT, the cable network that will broadcast the gala throughout Latin America.

During the delivery ceremony, the winners of the awards will be revealed, with the Argentine film, 1985 as the production with the most nominations with 14, followed by the Spanish work As bestas, the Mexican film Bardo, false chronicle of a few truths, the film Spanish Cinco lobitos and the Colombian series Noticia de un kidnapping, all of them with 6. The nominations for the awards are divided in this edition among twelve different countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Dominican Republic and Uruguay.
