A new edition of the Mirador Photo Garrigàs photography festival has already begun, whose inauguration we can see in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos. They start three weekends full of activities and, above all, photographs and good vibes!
It is chaired by the mayor of this Alt Empordà town, Pilar Bosh, although it was first organized by other people, one of them, Miquel Ruiz, a great photographer who died this year who, among other jobs, was a reporter in the Bosnian war.
The last weekend of the festival will be honored. In his memory, an intimate exhibition of his work has been organized, accompanied by a talk that will explore his life, the legacy he has left and his passions. Friends and acquaintances who shared a deep relationship with Miquel Ruiz will participate in this event.
In this series of photographs we can also see the person who, in recent years, has been taking charge of the organization, Jordi Gamell, expert in audiovisual networks and photographer.
The Photo Garrigàs Viewpoint originated as an initiative of photographers Miquel Ruiz and Josep Oliva. "It wants to be a meeting point where professionals, artists or photography fans can share their work, their projects, their ideas, their hobbies and their illusions, in a Small Format Photography Festival", the organization details.
The aim is to "enjoy, live and hear photography in a popular and simple way, in a rural, Empordà environment, with no more spirit of profit or benefit than to get rich by sharing the works and projects of all those who love photography and who want to do it." more socially accessible."
With the aim of giving continuity to the project, starting in 2016 Garrigàs City Council took over the organization of the meeting, providing it with a solid structure and keeping the founders as directors of the festival.
