The Perte to decarbonize the industry starts with 1,000 million

The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce has prepared the first line of aid from the Perte for the decarbonization of the industry, which will be published in mid-October and will have an endowment of 1,000 million euros.

This Perte is one of the large projects with European funds promoted by the department directed by Héctor Gómez. It contemplates a total public investment of 3.1 billion euros and aims to enable the viability of industrial companies through a reduction in their emissions.

The first call will be allocated to comprehensive actions and will include 500 million euros in subsidies and another 500 million for loans. Industry is also working on a line of action to support the development of new highly efficient and decarbonized manufacturing facilities, the materialization of which is expected to occur before the end of the year.

This line of action is part of a Perte that includes three other main lines. The first is comprehensive action aid for decarbonization; the second, aid to companies linked to hydrogen, and the third, the study on the development of a fund to support carbon difference contracts.

Since the decarbonization Perte was presented in February, Industry has been holding meetings with industrial companies to gauge their interest. More than one hundred companies have shown their willingness to present projects that could amount to more than 11,000 million euros of private investment.

According to Government estimates, this Perte will allow the creation of 8,000 jobs. Its financing will come mostly from the Addendum to the Recovery Plan approved by the Government, which is being negotiated with the European Commission and which should soon receive approval from Brussels.

Of all the Perte included in the Addendum, the decarbonization project is the one that receives the highest amount, with 2,720 million euros planned, of which 1,700 million are in the form of loans and another 1,020 million, in direct transfers.

The planned actions will be carried out between 2023 and 2026, although the projects could end later. Among the industries targeted are ceramics, cement, glass, chemicals, oil refining and paper.
