The perfume of best friends

With good friends you can think out loud, take off your masks and forget about appearances. They are the fair ones, without crowds, with an allergy to boredom and that certain non-conformist rebellion that does not want to follow scripts that they have not written themselves to the letter. They are not equal nor necessarily think the same, they avoid the homogeneous and agree on being vocationally different. And they understand each other. They walk through Manhattan wanting to party and unconsciously boasting about their friendship. Aiden Andrews, Ty Ogunkoya, Josh Upshaw and Eric Martin are models, which is not synonymous with routinely model.

They have in common experiences, anecdotes and the instinctive gesture of putting on perfume before leaving the house. Sometimes with Bad Boy; others with Bad Boy Cobalt. It depends on the day… or night. If perfume is the invisible and perfect accessory, they know how to get it right.

They represent different facets of that multifaceted and refreshing masculinity that everyone wants to conquer. Attractive and deep, naturally cool and with melancholic moments, sensually warm and electrifying at the same time. “I have loved working with them,” says Carolina A. Herrera, Creative Director of Beauty and Fragrances. “They have been a breath of fresh air, because they are different from each other, very natural and with a sense of humor,” she says.

According to market data, men spend about 30 seconds choosing their perfume. It seems obvious that, in addition to smell, they are guided by sight, and the Bad Boy bottles, with their lightning shape, are one of those that make an impact. Almost a sculpture: “The ideal representation of the fresh and powerful fragrance it contains,” says Herrera. It took three years of tests and trials to achieve it and now the original Bad Boy, which with its launch in 2019 gave a new twist to the concept of fougère, the backbone of men's perfumery, debuts in a refillable format. It keeps intact its mysterious blend in which smoked sage, herbal cannabis and warm, sumptuous leather coexist. “Pure emotion,” in the words of Herrera.

Each fragrance in the Bad Boy family poses a different reflection on the dual nature of contemporary man, a concept that in its Cobalt version shows its most elegant side while reinforcing the bonds of camaraderie. Modern men know that there is no strength without sensitivity, nor power without compassion. Daring like its predecessor, Bad Boy Cobalt dismantles conventions and explores the diverse ways of understanding brotherhood, which in nature is reflected in the strength of cobalt found in the Earth's crust and its powerful blue hue.

“With Cobalt, we wanted to create something that was a little mineral and earthy, something reminiscent of the way the air smells after a storm,” says Carolina A. Herrera. Olfactorily, it is an ode to freshness with touches of geranium, truffle, vetiver and cedar wood that, present in most of this year's men's fragrances, helps leave a mark and create memories. Like those friendships that accompany the different journeys of life.
