The passage of time and the desire to live

The inexorable passage of time and the transmission of affection and knowledge between generations is the guiding thread of The Grandmother, the winning story of the sixteenth edition of the contest of stories written by older people organized by the Fundació la Caixa in collaboration with Radio Nacional de Spain and La Vanguardia. The author is Chelo Cameselle, from Madrid.

In the micro-story category, Note on the Refrigerator, by Gaspar Marqués, also from Madrid, has won. And in the podcast, which premiered in this edition, the winner was the centenarian Milagros Castellà, from València, with I do have desires.

The jury was made up of the writers Soledad Puértolas and Fernando Schwartz; Ana Vega, RNE culture specialist; Miquel Molina, deputy director of La Vanguardia; the winners of the previous edition of the contest, and Jesús Arroyo, corporate director of Public Affairs at Fundació la Caixa.
