The mother of Luis Rubiales, urgently transferred to the hospital: "She has suffered a crisis"

Three days have passed since Ángeles Béjar, the mother of Luis Rubiales, declared a hunger strike by locking herself in a church in Motril (Granada). The woman demands justice for her son and that Jennifer Hermoso, the soccer player whom Rubiales kissed at the celebration of the women's soccer World Cup won by Spain, "tell the truth" about what happened.

Béjar had only broken his silence during these days on one occasion to testify before the media, which follows with special attention everything that happens inside the temple. Television journalists and agencies from all over the world have echoed this case, so the expectation before a new appearance by Rubiales' mother was maximum.

It was the parish priest of the Divina Pastora church, where Ángeles remains locked up, who reported that the woman would go out to testify before the media at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. However, it was the priest himself who came out to speak to the media a few minutes later than expected to report that Rubiales' mother had been rushed to the hospital due to "a crisis."

"I have to tell you that she had a crisis, it got worse; so we had to take her urgently to the hospital, and she is not here. We had to go to the hospital, because the woman was already tired and had problems not only at the level of mood," announced Antonio, the parish priest of the church, to the surprise of the journalists present at his door.

The priest has subsequently expanded on Ángeles Béjar's health status. "She was very bad, distressed, she was dizzy, she said that she noticed something strange in her heartbeat, and she decided to take her to the hospital," she commented. Luis Rubiales' mother would have left the church "through the back door" according to her testimony, avoiding the cameras, and she has been transferred to the Santa Ana de Motril hospital.

Asked if the family is already aware of this setback, Antonio assures that "they do know" and does not know if any of them are accompanying the woman at this time, although they have received the call from their son. "They are in contact," said the parish priest about Rubiales and his mother.
