The Mossos reinforce the police service in Badalona with nine patrols

The unions of the Badalona Urban Guard maintain the covert strike with 70 agents on sick leave due to various ailments that leave the service at a minimum and, in some cases, without being able to provide directly. Thus, the General Directorate of the Catalan Police has agreed to the request of the Badalona City Council and has reinforced the service with nine Mossos d'Esquadra patrols.

Given the situation of the Guàrdia Urbana, the mayor of Badalona, Rubén Guijarro, has publicly asked the agents participating in the covert strike "to return to their jobs" since a strike in a basic service such as security "is unprofessional". In statements to local television, he assured that he is willing to negotiate again "when all the agents are reinstated," admitting, however, that "they are right in many of their claims." Likewise, he assured that overtime is already being paid through payroll, with the exception of those carried out during the vacation period, the processing of which is pending in a legal case opened at the Barcelona Prosecutor's Office.

In the assembly held yesterday, the members of the SIP/Fepol union of the Guàrdia Urbana de Badalona agreed to keep open the option of not performing extraordinary services as a pressure measure against non-payment of overtime during the holiday period. They also agreed to initiate contacts with the other union, the Unitary Union Platform (PSU) for which they conclude that "out of responsibility, we extend our hand."

Along the same lines, SIP-Fepol argues that the only way to improve the economic conditions of the police force imminently and "on a legal basis" only goes through approving the bonus agreement, since it frees up the salary mass in the productivity that is to the limit. Another option to increase the salary, when the bonuses are consolidated in a specific complement, will be with a horizontal career and direct the objective in a new evaluation of the List of Jobs. For all these reasons, they will ask the councilor for the area, Christian Carneado, to accelerate investment in the group, to correct the existing deficiencies "that cause this understandable discomfort."
