If you have seen the wonderful musical L'alegria que passa and want to continue to be dazzled by the magnificent maturity of Àngels Gonyalons, now a more intimate, but equally magnificent interpretation is playing.
The Akadèmia theater in Barcelona premieres Arribat, directed by Montse Rodríguez Clusella. This bittersweet comedy, as described by Daniel J. Meyer, an Argentine author living in Barcelona, explains the story of Oriol (Pau Oliver), who is twenty years old and just wants to enjoy life and abandon himself to pleasure, avoiding commitment and family. .
But his mother, played by Àngels Gonyalons, also has her plans and considers that the time has come to turn her life around. Mother-child relationships are not her strong suit, because she has prioritized her profession ahead of time with her son.
When he wants to announce to his son that the house has been sold and that the two of them are going to travel the world in a van, Oriol arrives home with a boy a few years older than him, Javi (Marc Pociello), who is also looking to escape from daily responsibilities.
This is where this kind of theatrical road movie begins, where the actress takes the audience by the hand and transports them on a sidereal journey, for an hour and a half full of emotions. Like a good country van, Anna Alcubierre's scenic device is very effective, and allows all the elements to be concentrated in a single device.
