The look of the Planoles chamois

Seeing and photographing the chamois is a gift from nature, which I was able to capture today in Planoles, Ripollès region, in these snapshots that we see in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

When I saw him in the forest among the trees, I stayed still so as not to scare him, because as can be seen in the images, he was watching my movements.

The chamois spends the winter in the forests and in spring goes up to the mountains, in this case, the Eastern Pyrenees. It is usually found in high mountain areas with altitudes above 2000 meters.

The chamois is a bovid present in some mountain ranges in Europe, also in Catalonia, as in this case in the Ripollès region.

In Spain there are two subspecies of chamois: the Pyrenean (the protagonist of these photographs) and the Cantabrian. It is fortunate to be able to see them in their natural habitat and allow themselves to be photographed.
