The Imserso campaign is in danger when a court paralyzes sales for the 2023-24 season

The Central Administrative Court of Contractual Resources has decided to maintain the suspension of the three Imserso lots for the 2023/2024 season after the appeals of Soltour, Nautalia and Mundiplan, so until the organization issues a ruling the sales of the new contest.

The resources of these three consortia can delay the 2023/2024 campaign by up to three months, which this year has nearly 900,000 places and whose sales were scheduled to begin between mid-September and early October.

According to the minutes of the State Contracting Platform, the court has justified that "the analysis of the reasons underlying the filing of the aforementioned resources shows that the damages that could arise from lifting the suspension are difficult or impossible to repair." , so it is appropriate to agree to maintain the suspension."

Ávoris Corporación Empresarial, winner of the three Imserso lots for the 2023/2024 season, also presented allegations against the resources of Soltour, Nautalia and Mundiplan, as confirmed by the company. Therefore, the tourism group trusts that the Court will rule in its favor. favor because they understand that they have presented the best offer to win the three lots.

In a statement, Soltour, belonging to the Piñero Group, described the award as "unfair" and assured that it has not been made in accordance with the bases of the contract specifications.

For this reason, and after exploring "all possible avenues" for a solution, he stated that he has been forced to file the subsequent appeal rejecting this award made exclusively to Ávoris. He insisted that he does not want to "not harm the program" and that proof of this is that he previously presented allegations before the Imserso Contracting Board.

The Department of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism has confirmed the Consell's support for the companies participating in Imserso after hearing the news.

The head of the department, Nuria Montes, has indicated in a statement that an order has already been given to activate an aid program, of up to three million euros, from the Consell chaired by Carlos Mazón, with the aim of maintaining employment over time. that the formalization of the contract be delayed and has criticized that the "carelessness" of the Government "will be a very hard blow for tourism companies this winter."

Montes has stressed that the delay in awarding this holiday program will mean "a very severe blow not only for tourism companies, but for the entire Valencian economy that is dragged down by the activity of the sector in low season." He has also affirmed that this possible paralysis has been warned "repeatedly" by the companies that work with the Imserso "without measures have been adopted to prevent it."

"We do not understand the determination of the Government of Spain to execute a program without counting on private initiative, ignoring their requests and leaving everything until the last minute," added Montes, who stated that, taking into account the delay that these procedures entail, , Imserso's trips could even be delayed until 2024, "which will harm hotel planning this winter."

Likewise, the councilor has reiterated that the program "does not take into account any cost study for the companies that participate", with an "insufficient" increase and that has been accentuated by the inflationary crisis of the last year.

For this reason, it has requested a "show of real interest from the Government of Spain to make a program viable, effective and that allows the maintenance of thousands of jobs in the low season."
