The Teresines, the best neighbors, have decided to tell their story in detail, from when their parents met to their last requests, because they continue working in the underground economy.
“We have so much work that there is no way to finish it,” declares Teresina, the character played by Mercè Comes in the legendary TV3 series that, with only 13 episodes, managed to create a collective imagination.
All this takes place in the Ona bookstore, in Calle Pau Claris in Barcelona, where the room of the three sisters of Gracia has been recreated and the book Vida de Teresina (Rosa dels Vents) is presented. The volume bears the subtitle: "Authorized biography of the Teresines".
The real authors are the director of La Cubana, Jordi Milan, and Pol Vinyes, but Maria Teresa, the character of Mont Plans, says that it was a black man who wrote it based on what they said. “Not a real black, no. His name is Josep Miquel Negre i Escribà,” says Maria Teresa, in another great product of the Cuban imagination. “This boy was at home all day chasing us. And he was looking at us, huh? “He was looking at us!”
Teresina reveals: “Everything we say in the book is true, but not the whole truth,” she assures that they tell some interior things and that the chapter that has cost them the most is that of the Discalced Carmelites: “We had to go back a lot in time,” says Maria Teresa.
The Teresinas arrived late for the presentation, because they were at the doctor. “When you go to the doctor, you know when you're in, but not when you're going out,” declares Maria Teresa. And what makes them most excited about this book, between orders, is signing for Sant Jordi.
