The haze puts a face to the sun

In this sunset in the Empordà over the Mare de Dèu del Mont sanctuary we see several elements that catch our attention.

One of them is very curious, because the clouds seem to draw a face in the sun, with eyes and a mouth and teeth. Thus, his face looks towards Banyoles.

Casualties of nature. And it is that this has been possible due to the new episode of Saharan dust, which favors that the solar disk is so well marked in this image that we can see in The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia.

The views from the sanctuary are spectacular, as the mountain dominates the entire Empordà plain, the Alta Garrotxa and the southern slope of the Girona Pyrenees, from Puigmal to Canigó.

The haze is a meteorological phenomenon that occurs in the presence of Saharan dust in the atmosphere. If it is accompanied by precipitation, it can cause mud and visibility is reduced.

As an immediate effect and depending on its density, haze produces a greater or lesser decrease in visibility.
