The winter sunset in Alburquerque, Badajoz, shows the colors of the candilazo, the haze and the spotted sun, as seen in this series of photographs in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

The name Alburquerque derives from albus quercus, of Latin origin, which would mean "white oak" or "white oak", its meaning being "country of cork oaks". It makes sense due to the abundance of these trees in this area of Extremadura.

The candilazo is a meteorological phenomenon in which the clouds in the sky show a wide palette of colors that ranges from pink to the most intense orange.

For its part, haze is a meteorological phenomenon that occurs due to the presence of Saharan dust in the atmosphere. It usually leaves a landscape of fog and thick cloudiness of a grayish color, which in this case merges with the orange of the flushed sky.

In one of the images we can distinguish the spotted sun. A sunspot is a part of the sun that has a lower temperature than other areas around it and has intense magnetic activity. This phenomenon manifests itself by forming dark spots on the sun called "umbra", which are surrounded by lighter penumbras.
