The Girona-Costa Brava airport (Girona) has exceeded 1.3 million passengers so far this year, a figure that represents an increase of 17.7% compared to the same period in 2022.
In September, 265,186 travelers passed through Girona, 37.4% more than last year. This same month, the number of flights operated has also grown by 16.8% with 2,558, although overall flights have decreased to date with 0.8% fewer connections so far this year than in 2022 (16,659).
In relation to cargo, during the month of September 106 tons of merchandise have been transported (268.8% more than in the same month last year) and 240 tons so far this year (140.6% more than in 2022).
Girona has been the second airport in the Aena network in Catalonia through which the most travelers and planes have passed this September.
The Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport has registered 4.6 million passengers and 28,455 flights; that of Reus, 165,815 travelers and 2,221 operations; and Sabadell, 535 passengers and 4,072 air connections.
