In La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos we can see this photograph of the rise of the full moon in January, the first full moon of 2024, in an image taken from the Cala Vinyeta viewpoint towards the Calella lighthouse, the protagonist.
The Capaspre lighthouse erected in this coastal town of Maresme is included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.
In this place, between Sant Pol and Calella, stood the "turret" that had guarded and guarded Calella for centuries. Today, nothing remains of this tower, just a memory, as a small turret was built above the entrance to the railway tunnel.
The lighthouse emerges at the most prominent mountainous end of the sea in this part of the Alt Maresme coast. It is located at the top of a promontory about 50 meters high.
In 1856 work began on the construction of the lighthouse, which finally, under the direction of the engineer Marià Parellada, was inaugurated on December 15, 1859. Today it is a symbol of Calella.
From the viewpoint of the Calella lighthouse you can enjoy spectacular views over the city, the sea, the coast and the mountains of the Montnegre y Corredor Natural Park.
