The coal train in Cercs is the protagonist today in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, with these photographs of the town and the mural that recalls the mining past of this area of Berguedà.
In Cercs you can visit the interesting Museo de las Minas, dedicated to the history of the coal mines in Berguedà. Many inhabitants of the area have relatives who dedicated their lives to the hard work of mining.
There is a coal train in Berguedà. It used to transport this fossil fuel from the mines in the area to the Guardiola de Berguedà station.
Some of these trains have been restored and can be seen in the Cercs Mining Museum.
There is also a tourist train route, known as the Tren del Ciment, which historically connects the Asland de Castellar de n'Hug cement factory with Guardiola de Berguedà.
