The last edition this past weekend of Baixada de las teies collapsed Castell de Gurb, in Osona, given the success of participation, as we see in this graphic testimony in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.

As detailed by the organization, "La Baixada de teies" is "an initiative born in 2011 with the vocation to recover the presence of fire as a traditional and ancestral element of our culture, to celebrate together the winter solstice and Christmas and to meet and share a party with all the people".

Gurb Castle is located in the center (841 meters) of the municipality, at the top of the characteristic hill known by its homonymous name, and stands behind the old parish church of Sant Andreu (563 meters).

It is crowned by a large iron cross. After its ruin practically since the 14th century, in a 1968 excavation carried out by a group of people from Gurb, the base of a large circular tower, fragments of wall, the beginnings of an arch and the cistern appeared.

The remains of the Sant Esteve chapel were also found, which in the 14th century had its own priest and benefit. The story of Gurb begins with the castle. Vic's documentation makes mention of the Gorbi or Gurbi castrum from 886 onwards.
