Once again thanks to the planning of @marribcor and @r._hernando I have photographed another sunrise for La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos with the group @barcelona_photographers coinciding with the Three Chimneys of Besòs.
Sant Adrià, located at the mouth of the Besòs river, between Barcelona, Badalona and Santa Coloma de Gramanet, has as a great visual reference point this structure built very close to the sea.
This is the old Tres Chimeneas thermal power station, which was a conventional cycle thermoelectric installation located on the left bank of the mouth of the Besòs.
It consisted of three thermal groups of 350 MW each. Owned by Fecsa-Endesa, it was operational between 1973 and 2011.
After the dismantling of the plant, the turbine hall and its three iconic chimneys have been preserved, which are currently municipal property and are waiting to become a great hub for cultural and leisure activity.
