Juan Antonio Bayona is going through one of his best moments both professionally and personally. At the end of 2023, one of his most acclaimed films by the general public and critics, The Snow Society, was released. A film that narrated the tragedy in the Andes that occurred on October 13, 1972 and from which 16 people managed to survive.
The film, which won the Goya for 'best film' in the last edition of the awards, was one of the great protagonists of the 96th edition of the Oscar Awards, where it received two nominations.
On a personal level, the filmmaker can also boast of being in an unbeatable moment with his current partner, Alejandro Navas, who did not leave the director for a single second during the awards season. In fact, Bayona's current boyfriend made his first public appearance during the Goya award ceremony, held last February in Valladolid.
Now, several months after their first joint appearance, Alejandro Navas wanted to declare to the whole world his love for the director of The Snow Society. Navas published on his social networks a very romantic photograph with the filmmaker, who this Thursday, May 9, celebrates his 49th birthday.
In the image you can see Alejandro Navas resting his head on the Catalan's back in what seems to be one of his last romantic getaways. The photograph was accompanied by a clear and concise message. ''T'estimo'' (I love you in Spanish)'', he wrote along with an emoticon of a cake and a '1'. In this way, the costume designer and audiovisual technician wanted to have a romantic gesture with his partner on a day as important as his 49th birthday.
However, his partner was not the only person who wanted to congratulate the filmmaker through social networks. Santi Vaca and Blas Polidori, actors in his latest feature film, were two of the faces that sent messages of affection and congratulations to Bayona. ''Today is the birthday of J. A. Bayona's brother's brother,'' wrote his twin brother Carlos.
