The Consell Comarcal del Pla d'Urgell has committed to working so that the regular public transport lines in the region respond to the needs of students and complement the school transport that it manages for us.
The president, Carles Palau, has lamented that there is a "lack of public transport appropriate to the real needs of our groups."
This "fundamental problem" contributes to the problem of the lack of school transportation to Mollerussa for ESO students who go to centers other than the one to which they are assigned and for post-compulsory studies, since in these cases Education has no obligation to provide them transport. The transportation managed by the regional entity serves 720 students this year.
Carles Palau has stated that modifying the regular regional bus service will be complicated. However, he assured that the council will work "to restructure the lines so that they really serve" the regional needs, and gave as an example that there are more bus lines that stop at the Institut La Serra, located on the outskirts of Mollerussa. .
Currently, only the regular Bellvís bus line passes by the Institut La Serra at the arrival and departure times of students. "We must work in this direction, try to ensure that the maximum number of regular lines pass through Mollerussa and La Serra," he indicated.
