The conjunction of the waning Moon with Venus

In the Photos of La Vanguardia Readers we can contemplate the conjunction of the waning moon with Venus and the mists recorded in Sentfores, a nucleus of the municipality of Vic, which extends through the valley of the Meder River.

Before dawn, the waning moon that will be new this Friday rose behind Montseny in the Tagamanent area. Almost at the same time, Venus also rose near the Matagalls, also from the Montseny massif.

When all this was happening, below, the lights of the Plana de Vic were on among the mists, as can be seen in this series of photographs.

Two stars are in conjunction when observed from a third (generally the Earth) they are at the same celestial longitude, in this case, the Moon with Venus.

Conjunction is one of the main aspects of the planets. It is also applicable to any celestial object that is located visually close to another.

It is not surprising that the conjunction between the Moon and Venus is the most striking, since it occurs between the two brightest celestial bodies in the sky after the Sun.
