The four civil guards who survived the attack by a drug boat in the port of Barbate (Cádiz) on February 9, in which two agents died, have confirmed before a local court that it was an intentional action and have declared that they have not able to identify its crew.
These four civil guards have testified as witnesses in the Court of First Instance and Instruction 1 of Barbate and have detailed that there were several attempted attacks by a drug boat, the largest of those that were in the port, including two serious attacks and the third fatal, according to what the lawyer of one of the accusations, Andrés Carreño, told journalists.
This lawyer has pointed out that the agents, who are affected by what happened, have told the judge that, given the circumstances in which the events occurred, they have not been able to offer more details about the crew of the drug boat, although they remember a person with a “brighter or more striking” garment, orange or reddish in color.
These statements come after the new report from the Central Operational Unit (UCO) is known, which rules out the participation of the six imprisoned for the death of two civil guards.
The lawyers of those six detainees have reiterated before the Barbate Court the request for the release of the detainees who remain in provisional prison, something that could happen between next Monday or Tuesday, according to Kiko 'el Cabra's lawyer. , Alvaro Aznar.
Carmen Gómez, the aunt of Miguel Ángel, the murdered civil guard of San Fernando (Cádiz), has assured this Friday that the agent's family wants "justice" and "not revenge", also asserting that the six detained as alleged perpetrators of these facts “they are criminals.”
In an intervention on Canal Sur Television, Gómez explained that “he trusts the Civil Guard a lot” and that if the detainees “are not the murderers, they cannot be accused of being murderers” and “they will be accused of other things, period.” . “For me they are all bad people, haters, or call them whatever you want, from the one who was cheering in the port to all those who were in the drug boats,” said the aunt of the deceased agent. “For me they are all criminals, and we don't want revenge, what we want is justice,” she stated bluntly.
