The Bisbal d'Empordà allocates 416,000 euros to the clean-up shock plan

The La Bisbal d'Empordà City Council has announced that it will allocate 416,000 euros to the shock plan for cleaning and maintaining streets and public spaces. This is one of the points of the government agreement signed by the three parties that make it up.

The city will be divided into eight sectors and the municipal government has announced that it will act street by street over six months. The shock plan will start in October and is expected to end in March 2024.

The main objective will be to clean the dirt that exists in the street manually and with machines with pressurized water. In addition, the weeds that grow will be eliminated and a treatment will be carried out so that they do not come out again.

The La Bisbal d'Empordà City Council has announced that throughout the crash plan residents will be asked not to park their cars in the streets where action is taking place. The local government has announced that it plans to communicate the affected streets in advance to the residents and the idea is that the operators find the streets completely free to act. In this way, it is expected to eliminate all the dirt that is on the sidewalk and the road.

Taking advantage of the action, the damaged cobblestones on the sidewalks will be repaired, the deteriorated signals will be changed and the roads will be repainted where necessary. In addition, the busiest pedestrian crossings will be repainted red to improve safety. It will also be used to make specific improvements in lighting and benches and litter bins will be added.

Within the shock plan, it is planned to carry out a first round of asphalting that will be completed in the coming years of the mandate with a multi-year plan. Taking advantage of the existence of paving machines, speed reducers will be installed at various points in the municipality.

This shock plan, which will be executed by the members of the municipal brigade with the help of external companies, has two objectives. In the short term, put the city in conditions and, in the medium term, allow that from this set-up it is only necessary to carry out pertinent, scheduled and systematized maintenance from time to time.

In addition, the consistory puts into operation a mobile phone so that citizens can comment on incidents. The messages will be answered by the Councilor for Public Roads, Xavier Dilmé.
