"The best Holy Week in history" in Andalusia with more than a million visitors

Andalusia has reached, for the first time, one million visitors this Easter, which is 15% more than in 2022, and tourism revenues have reached 400 million, 27% more than the previous year.

These official data have been advanced Tuesday by the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, on his twitter account, in which he affirms that Andalusia "has had the best Holy Week in its history".

"Our traditions and the way in which we show them to the world are a unique attraction," said the president of the Board, who also highlighted that the average stay has increased by a day and a half and the average expense per tourist in 3.63 euros a day this Easter.

In the absence of the publication of the official data to which the President of the Board has alluded, the update of the survey on hotel occupancy and tourist accommodation carried out during Holy Week by the Andalusian Federation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodations (Fahat ) updated yesterday Monday, places the average occupancy obtained in Andalusia in this period at 83.4% of the available places, a figure that represents an increase of 8.19 points compared to the data reached in Holy Week 2022 (75, 2%) and a slight upward adjustment of 0.96% compared to the forecasts made by the sector (82.43%).

On the other hand, compared to the year 2019, this increase stands at 4.59 points, a year in which the average occupancy was 78.8%, thus confirming the recovery for this period to the pre-pandemic data only from the perspective of the demand, as stated by the federation in a press release.

However, except for Malaga and Seville, which maintain practically the same data as the initial forecasts, the rest of the Andalusian provinces improve these forecasts, motivated in most cases by the decrease in the average price compared to those initially forecast for all the reserves. last minute made for this period.

By provinces, the data on the degree of occupancy obtained for the entire period of Holy Week is led by the province of Huelva, with 86.04%, followed by Granada, with 85%; Cádiz, with 84.89%; Malaga, with 84.24%; Seville, with 84%; Jaén, with 81%; Cordoba, with 80%; and, Almería, with 72.5%.
