The beauty that comes from bursting a hose

In La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos we can see the beautiful consequence of a burst water hose in the town of Torelló, in the Osona region.

The low morning temperatures at this point in winter have caused the water to freeze in such a way that it seems to decorate the trees that have been soaked with ice.

Frost is a meteorological phenomenon that occurs when there is a drop in ambient temperature to levels below the freezing point of water.

This causes the water or vapor in the air to freeze, depositing it as ice on surfaces, such as leaves and flowers.

In the Mediterranean climate, it is more common for temperatures to drop a little below 0 °C exceptionally and rise again after a few hours as the sun gets stronger.
