The beautiful anticyclonic sun of Orís

The month of January ends with anticyclone. And, in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, we can see how the sun rises over the castle of Orís and with the church of Sant Genís d'Orís, in the region of Osona.

The first written references to this medieval castle of Orís date back to documents dating back to the year 914. It is located on the top of a steep rocky mountain, from where you can see the seas of fog. It is located about 2 km away from the town of Orís.

Today it is in ruins, because the castle was almost completely destroyed, so some walls of the rooms, the cistern and the floor plan of the Romanesque chapel of Sant Pere are preserved.

For its part, the church is located at the top of the town. It was built between 1791 and 1779, but, due to the French War, the works were not finished until 1821, in the Moretó style, between baroque and neoclassicist.

From the interior of this church in Orís, it stands out that a Gothic image from the 14th century of the Virgen con el Niño is preserved.
