The little egret is a privileged one. You can fish in the Onyar River, as shown in the photograph shared by Artur Font that gave rise to this report in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.
The little egret is a type of bird that usually lives in coastal places and Catalunya is one of them. This bird has white plumage and has a long beak and long legs to easily catch its prey.
It feeds mainly on invertebrates, insects and fish and does so in places where water is not abundant so that it is easier for it to search for and obtain its food. They also tend to fish in stagnant places with vegetation, such as rivers with low water levels, lakes or lagoons, such as in this case the Onyar River as it passes through Girona.
This is done in places where the flow remains low due to the effects of the drought. In the Onyar, even, this exceptional situation of lack of rain forced the removal of the maximum number of carp and other fish in April due to the deterioration of the little water that remained in this emblematic river.

Although the flow of the river is still low due to the lack of rain at the beginning of autumn, that does not prevent you from continuing to appreciate the beautiful reflections of the famous Onyar houses on the water, as can be seen in the photographs.
The Onyar houses are one of the most famous places in the city. Its bright colors and its location, with the Cathedral and Sant Feliu in the background, make it the most emblematic image of Girona.
