I have captured this photographic report for La Vanguardia Readers' Photos, taking advantage of the spring atmosphere and mild temperatures of this month of February, walking through the natural environment of Gallecs before the cold arrives at the end of the week and reminds us that we are still in winter.
Gallecs is a green oasis of ecological agriculture on the doorstep of Barcelona. We are facing a rural area of 733.52 hectares located just 15 kilometers north of the Catalan capital. It has become a green area of ecological agriculture in an intensely urbanized environment.
Since 2005, the area has experienced a transition towards organic farming, recovering and producing local and traditional varieties of seeds.

Beyond agriculture, Gallecs is also a space for leisure and culture for neighboring populations. It has 30 kilometers of paths to enjoy hiking and cycling. Green spaces for picnics and outdoor activities. And it hosts cultural activities such as concerts, exhibitions and workshops.
The Consorcio del Parc de l'Espai d'Interès Natural de Gallecs, formed by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the town councils of the area, ensures the sustainable management of the territory.
