The Théâtre Du Châtelet in Paris dressed up this Monday to celebrate the 2022 Ballon d'Or gala. Karim Benzema and Alexia Putellas became the winners of this edition, an award that recognizes them as the best soccer players in the world in the 2021 season/ 22.
Other prizes were awarded at the ceremony presented by former soccer player Didier Drogba and French journalist Sandy Heribert. Barça footballer Gavi was one of the first winners of the night. The Blaugrana youth squad succeeded Pedri in the Kopa trophy. Also another Blaugrana like Robert Lewandowski was awarded, in this case he received the Müller award for being the top scorer last season when he was still playing for Bayern.
On the white side, Thibaut Courtois was recognized as the best goalkeeper of the year and won the Yashin trophy. Other awards were the Sócrates trophy for Sadio Mané (Bayern) and the best club of the year went to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
