Telefónica confirms to the unions its intention to make an ERE in all its Spanish subsidiaries

Telefónica intends to undertake an exit plan, but they will not be incentivized as originally planned, but will instead execute an Employment Regulation File (ERE) in each of the group companies.

This has been conveyed by the company's directors to the union representatives, as confirmed this afternoon by the majority union in the telecom company, UGT.

"The details and the negotiation will correspond to the tables that each of the Intercenter Committees must establish and will accommodate the legal deadlines set for this," sources from said union explained this afternoon.

In the meeting held this Monday, UGT demanded from the company that any exit plan be linked to the signing of a new Related Companies Agreement with a minimum duration of 3 years that protects the staff and their working and economic conditions. "All this without prejudice to the fact that people who may be affected by the aforementioned ERE have guarantees and conditions similar to previous exit plans," they say.

The union claims to be unaware of the details of the ERE as well as the new agreement, but they advance that "positions are far apart" in the event that the company proposes undertaking productivity measurement plans, reviewing the professional classification, addressing a regulation on scheduled work. , the control of absenteeism, a new model of geographical and functional mobility or considering the review of the guarantee regime.

UGT has marked its red lines, among which we highlight, among others, our salary structure, the guarantee regime or the salary review clause that allows us to maintain purchasing power.

UGT is also committed to including improvements such as, among others: Dental reimbursement policy for the entire workforce, Expansion of social benefits, Expansion and improvement of teleworking, relocation.

They will also demand improvement and expansion of permits, a 35-hour work week, as well as strengthening Social Funds, improvements in sales, operations, training or equality and professional projection in labor groups and adaptation of lower levels.

Furthermore, "UGT continues to support the consolidation and improvements of the rights for the Non-Convention workforce and requests the suspension of the movements proposed for 1004 and those caused by the closure of buildings that have been undertaken in recent days by the company.
