Storm Ciarán wakes up the waves

Very high waves given to us by the passage of the Ciarán storm on Garraf beach. Quite a spectacle worth seeing and that I have been able to portray for La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

So far, the first autumn storms have had rather little impact in Catalonia, where they have arrived more weakened. But the latest, known as Ciarán, is a high-impact storm from the United Kingdom.

This storm has forced the activation of the warning throughout Spain this Thursday, except in the Canary Islands, due to rain, gusts of wind of up to 150 km/h maximum and sea storms.

Now, the areas with the highest incidence of this storm will be Galicia, Cantabria and the Basque Country, where there is a red alert due to heavy rainfall and waves of up to nine meters, reports the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) on its website.

The rainfall will spread, although with less intensity towards the south and the Mediterranean area and without affecting the southeast of the peninsula. In total, 47 provinces will be on alert throughout Thursday.
