Stars like him "historically" can grab a woman by the genitals, Trump says

Donald Trump does not regret his famous 2005 statement, published on the eve of the elections he would win in 2016, in the sense that "when you are a star" you can grab women by the genitals because they "let you do it".

Last October, during her testimony in the rape and defamation lawsuit filed by the writer Jean Carroll and now being tried in New York, the plaintiff's lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, asked the Republican leader if that statement seemed correct. And he replied, "Well, historically, that's true with the stars. If you look at the last million years, I guess it's been largely true...unfortunately or fortunately."

When the lawyer wanted to know if he considered himself a star, Trump replied that he did: "You can say it like that," he added.

The statement was recorded on video and this Friday, a day after the jury in the case saw it during the trial, the recording was published by order of the court.

Under questioning, the Republican leader also showered Carroll with insults. "Liar", "nutty" and "mentally ill" were some of the epithets that she dedicated to him.

But Trump screwed up. Because he also assured that Carroll was not "his type of him" of him. But when they showed him an old photo of him with her, he mistook her for her second wife, Marla Maples: a woman he was supposed to be her type.

The skid was widely commented on in the US media.
