Shooting outside Drake's house leaves one of his bodyguards seriously injured

A bodyguard of rapper Drake has been seriously injured after being hit by a bullet during a shootout outside the singer's mansion. The events occurred at two in the morning in the residential neighborhood of Bridle Path, one of the most exclusive in the city of Toronto, in Canada. As reported by the Canadian police, the rapper's residence was attacked by two people who have not yet been identified and who shot at the guards, and later fled in a vehicle.

At the moment it has not been possible to identify the attackers, although the shooting has been recorded through the security cameras of the artist's home. The guard has been taken to the hospital with serious injuries, since according to police sources one of the bullets hit him in the chest.

Regarding the scene of the events, the authorities continue to guard the mansion that remains cordoned off. At the moment, the location where the artist was when the shots were fired is still unknown. “I cannot confirm whether Drake was home at the time the incident occurred, but I can tell you that we are in contact with his team and they are cooperating,” said one of the police inspectors.

Despite this, the causes of the attack are unknown, although the authorities have admitted to knowing about the conflict between Drake and the American rapper Kendrick Lamar. This feud, which has been going on for more than 10 years, has resurfaced after the publication of the song Not Like Us by rapper Kendrick Lamar on May 4. In the song the artist accuses Drake of being an alleged pedophile.

The feud between both rappers began in 2013 after the publication of the song Control, where Kendrick Lamar collaborated with Big Sean on a song aimed at Drake and other artists. Lamar dedicated several verses to the world of rap, ensuring that he “was going to murder them” within the musical field.

However, and after several years of reproaches by both through their music, the controversy worsened in May 2024. On May 4, Lamar released the song Not Like Us, in which, in addition to cataloging Drake, as a pedophile, referred to an alleged secret daughter that, according to Lamar, the singer would never have recognized as his.

The song is accompanied by a video clip showing an aerial image of Drake's house where the shooting occurred. In the video you can see the house marked with red icons, used to warn of the presence of convicted pedophiles.

The rapper's response was immediate. On May 6, Drake released the song The Heart Part 6, where he denies Kendrick's accusations. After so many years of reproaches and insults through lyrics, where they have been accused of pedophilia, abuse and infidelity, his enmity still remains in the spotlight within the world of rap.

Although the events that occurred at Drake's residence remain under investigation, there is no indication that the shooting was related to the feud between the rappers. Authorities continue to reconstruct the facts to find answers about the incident.
