Seville, in the world epicenter of Latin music with the celebration of the Grammys

Seville is set to become the epicenter of the Latin music festival for a week. Everything is organized and planned so that the new edition of the Grammys, which for the first time in its long history is held outside the United States, is a complete success, as well as so that the city that hosts it looks irresistible to all the spectators who attend it. They will follow the event from anywhere in the world. “We will be a global showcase,” said the mayor of the Seville capital, José Luis Sanz, who predicts significant profitability for the city with the organization of this musical event, calculating its impact at more than 50 million euros.

But apart from the not inconsiderable economic data, the truth is that Seville is already revolutionized with this great event in the autumn calendar. With hotels packed and bars and restaurants smoking, there is a good party attitude and, above all, there is a desire to have a great time. And, although the long-awaited Latin Grammy Gala will take place on November 16, during the previous week, that is, from this same Friday the 10th, the programming has already started in some parts of the capital: Plaza España, Las Setas, Casa Pilatos or the Real Alcázar will be part of the Awards setting, as well as the FIBES Congress Palace.

The Andalusian capital stands out for its culture, its history, its climate and its gastronomy, and it is taking advantage of all the opportunities at its disposal to become a host point for major international events. The Grammys, due to their projection and relevance, have become a challenge for the municipal government team that has not hesitated to put 'all the meat on the grill' to obtain a good grade once the microphones are turned off and the artists come down. of the scenarios.

To achieve this, and aware that an event of these characteristics alters the normal life of a city, the city council has asked for "high-mindedness" and "understanding" from citizens for the inconvenience that will be caused. In this "complicated week" a special security, mobility and cleaning device will be activated, activating the municipal pre-emergency phase until Saturday, November 18, that is, the activation of "all security services to act in the event of a eventual emergency". In short, there will be 40 local police officers per shift on the streets but, in case of alarm, up to 200 more officers could be added. In addition, 60 firefighters will be operational and another 25 available "to provide a response in less than 30 minutes," says the mayor.

The security forces are joined by the cleaning operation, with 110 workers and 45 active vehicles, drones will take flight in the areas of the historic center of Seville to guarantee the safety of residents, tourists and guests at the music festival , as well as in the surroundings of Fibes, in whose pavilion number 1 the awards ceremony will be held, with capacity for about 5,000 attendees. And between each event on the agenda, there will be “punctual” traffic cuts that will be gradually reported from the town hall, according to what has been reported.

The popular Plaza de España will become the almost daily meeting point for all those who want to enjoy live music outdoors, although, yes, you must enter with a ticket. The same does not happen with the concert that DJ Carlos Jean will give in Las Setas, whose access will be free until capacity is reached, one of the few open activities that will take place in this pre-gala week along with the projection of a promotional video in some of its monuments, specifically in the Triana footbridge and the Torre del Oro.

Free access will also be the activities and performances that the Seville city council has organized for November 16 in order to commemorate the declaration of Flamenco as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. La Alameda, Plaza de San Francisco or Muelle de la Sal are the places chosen to give voice to this style so typical of the southern region.

The rest are private parties for guests, industry members, honorees and notable personalities that are out of reach of the average citizen.

Of course, the broadcast of the gala will reach all homes that want to follow it through RTVE on the 16th starting at 10:30 p.m.
