The State Meteorological Agency warns this Friday of the change in weather that will occur this weekend, coinciding with the change of month. In an informative note, the AEMET in the Valencian Community explains how starting tomorrow there will be "autumn atmosphere with the arrival of an Atlantic trough that, during Saturday, will be isolated from the general circulation, forming a DANA (isolated depression at high levels) centered in the west of the peninsula.
Although it will be widespread throughout the Peninsula, as far as the eastern peninsula is concerned, the AEMET warns that the rains will be more "intense and persistent", with the most important accumulations.
On Saturday the DANA will be centered in the west of the peninsula, but there will also be rains in the east. And on Sunday, the Aemet recognizes that the greatest probability and intensity of rainfall will occur in the eastern zone, southeast quadrant and center of the peninsula, where they will be strong or very strong and persistent and where gusts of wind are also expected.
In anticipation, the Valencia City Council has intensified these days the revision of scuppers and underpasses before the arrival of storms, as well as the cleaning of sediments from the lowest sewers in the city, located in the Poblats Marítims area. These actions, directed from the Department of the Integral Water Cycle, have the objective of mitigating as much as possible the effects of the possible storms that are announced for this autumn.
As of Monday, according to the AEMET, the forecast of widespread rains in the Mediterranean area decreases.
