See how the snow lily hugs the tree

The snow lilies or milk flower, the protagonist today in this image in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos, are one of the first plants to bloom and sometimes they bloom among the snow.

We find these plants in humid areas or near water, like this one that I have photographed around Viladrau, in the Osona region.

In the image we can see that the milk flower is slightly wet and next to the moss attached to the tree. In reality, it looks like it is hugging the trunk.

At the time of capturing this snapshot, I was struck by the position of the snow lily and the curve of the trunk of this beautiful plant.

The most popular species of Galanthus is the "snowdrop" (Galanthus nivalis), which grows spontaneously in forests, in compact colonies, in partially shaded places and that often blooms in the snow.

The generic name Galanthus means "milk flower", so they are also known by that name. The nickname "snow" is due to the early flowering of the plant.
