Sea of seagulls in Lloret

The seagulls land on the beach of Lloret de Mar, in the Selva region, to rest. As we see in this snapshot in La Vanguardia Readers' Photos, these birds, when they gather in large numbers, are capable of covering the sand on the beach, appropriating it.

Seagulls are birds of medium to large size, which when they are young have gray plumage, but when they grow up they change it to white. This plumage often has black markings on the head or wings.

They are very ingenious, curious and intelligent birds, with complex communication methods and a highly developed social structure.

Seagulls are closely linked to coastal areas, where they have already learned to coexist successfully with humans.

Seagulls are omnivorous birds, but they are mostly classified as carnivorous. They are part of the landscape of the Mediterranean Sea and, in this case, of the Costa Brava.

Lloret de Mar is a town famous for its beaches. To the east is the castle of Sant Joan, with good views. In the center of the town, the church of Sant Romà offers architectural examples of both Catalan Gothic and modernism. The Santa Clotilde gardens are located on a cliff facing the sea and their style imitates that of the Italian Renaissance.
