Sandra Gómez rescues Elisa Valía in a very tailor-made list with a strong female presence

The PSPV candidate for Mayor of Valencia, Sandra Gómez, has presented a list that will be validated this afternoon by the Valencia Regional Committee, marked by a strong female presence and people of her absolute confidence. With the elaboration of the candidacy and after announcing by trickle most of the aspiring mayors who will accompany him the next 28M, Gómez demonstrates his organic control of the city and the freedom that she has had to make the candidacy.

The most notable novelty of the final ordering of the electoral ballot is the rescue of the Councilor for Ciclo Integra del Agua, Participation and Transparency, Elisa Valía, who in the votes of the different districts had been in position 15 and who, finally, will rank sixth on the list. A starting position for this mayor who was always located in the environment of the former PSOE Organization Secretary José Luis Ábalos, but who had already turned organically in recent years. However, it is not possible to speak exactly of an integration list because councilors such as Police, Aaron Cano (the most prominent abalist), will not repeat in the consistory.

On the list there are people who are Gómez's most trusted, such as what will be his number two, Borja Sanjuán. The current councilor of the Treasury for Innovative Development of the Economic and Employment sectors, will make a ticket with Gómez while the councilor for Cultural Action, Education, Migration and Youth, Maite Ibáñez, will be the third and the current mayor of Sports, Javier Mateo will be the five. Mateo was the one who replaced Pilar Bernabé when she was promoted to the Government Delegation.

The signings already announced are as follows. The presence on the list of the journalist Nuria Llopis stands out to lead the Festival Culture area and to be the first woman president of the Junta Central Fallera, which will be the 4th; the regional secretary of Public Works, Transport and Sustainable Mobility, María Pérez, the seven; or the manager of the Sports Foundation, Borja Santamaría, the eighth. Likewise, the mental health expert, Dolors López, will be the ninth and the benchmark for third sector entities, Paco Quiles; the 10.

PSPV sources explain to La Vanguardia that Santamaría is the manager of Nueva Opción and works with people with brain damage and is a direct bet by Gómez to reinforce the social welfare area together with Dolors López.

They are followed in the top 17 by Rocío Barbeito, Javier García Safont, Lorena Ramírez, Alessio Curti, María José Gastaldo, Pablo Ruiz and Laia Lloret.

In this way, among the first nine positions on the list there are 6 women. The deputy mayor of Valencia has always made feminism one of her flags.

Regarding the candidacy, Gómez has indicated that it is "a team of people who combine experience, capacity and solvency", to "lead Valencia with the left hand, that is, from consensus, dialogue and responsibility".

As announced yesterday, Vicent Soler, the professor of Applied Economics and former Minister of Finance, who Gómez has highlighted as "one of the person who represents social advances, the claim of Valencian identity, has joined in 33rd place. and a plural, open and inclusive Valencianism”.
