Russia launches a missile on a shopping center with a thousand people inside in the center of Ukraine

The Russian army has launched a missile on a shopping center in Kremenchuk, an industrial city that before the war had just over 200,00 inhabitants before the war, on the banks of the Dnieper. The mall is usually packed with hundreds of people, according to the city's mayor.

Volodímir Zelenski has affirmed that "I cannot even imagine" the number of victims of the attack". A first balance of the attack points to two deaths and twenty wounded. "It is useless to expect decency and humanity from Russia" added the Ukrainian president.

The Russian army has increased its attacks in recent days against areas of Ukraine that in recent weeks had remained on the sidelines of the fighting. Among them, the capital itself, Kyiv, where on Sunday a missile hit a civilian building, resulting in one death and several injuries. Russian authorities have blamed the city government for what happened. However, the attack comes on the day the G-7 meets in Germany to discuss Western aid to Ukraine.
